The invisible made visible

Every stroke survivor has a story one of trauma, resilience, and determination. Monaco AVC's president Steven had two strokes.

Even as stroke survivors rebuild, the fear of another stroke remains. It’s a quiet burden, shared by their partners in a fight against the unpredictable.

All stories of stroke survivors reveal not just the weight of uncertainty, but also the hope of new medicine, and new research for prevention that keeps them moving forward.

For the WSC2025, thanks to Bayer's initiative, their experiences and emotions were transformed by visual artists into unique masks that symbolizes the unseen struggles and strength behind every survivor’s story.

Let's unveil together the unseen struggles of stroke survivors, and advocate for them!

Bayer's research and collaboration with organizations like the American Stroke Association focus on a multi-faceted approach to secondary stroke prevention, which includes a focus on new anticoagulant research and reinforcing established methods. Key strategies involve developing new medications like asundexian to reduce the risk of future strokes, while simultaneously emphasizing lifestyle changes (e.g., healthy diet, physical activity) and medication compliance for all strokesurvivors.
